With a strong microbiology background and specialisation in rapid methods like PCR, Andrew has contributed to food safety and quality for nearly 25 years. Over the past 16 years, in particular, Andrew has combined leadership with sales and customer focus to ensure the business has grown sustainably and consistently. His greatest success lies in fostering continuous team growth and development. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys travelling, home brewing, and motorcycling. -
Thomas Nelson
Contracts Manager
Thomas joined InterMed in September 2015 and has been a key contributor to the development of InterMed’s robust commercial analytics and contracting processes. As InterMed’s Contracts Manager, Thomas provides a dedicated resource for supporting and delivering our commercial agreements across ANZ. He strongly focuses on mitigating risks and maximising value for our organisation and partners. Outside the office, he enjoys immersing himself in sports and DIY projects. -
Trent Porter
Management Accountant
Joining the InterMed Team as our Management Accountant in 2023, Trent brings a good mix of accounting experience, having previously worked in the Business Advisory division of one of the world’s largest accounting firms. Originally from Christchurch, Trent completed his Finance/Accounting degree at Auckland University and has gone on to gain his chartered accountancy in 2024. In his free time, you can find Trent rock climbing and snowboarding in the winter. -
Nicola MacKay
Human Resources Business Partner ANZ
Nicola is an experienced HR professional across many industries with the health sector being her favourite. Joining InterMed in early 2024, Nicola has become a valuable addition to the HR function across Australia and New Zealand. Nicola's family keeps her busy outside of work, and she is passionate about staying active, having taught Jazzercise classes for over 30 years on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. -
Geddes Weston
Director
As a trained laboratory scientist, Geddes moved from the laboratory to medical sales before he ventured into entrepreneurship and founded InterMed with Trish in 1980. With his unwavering determination, business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset, InterMed has grown into the successful trans-Tasman company it is today. -
Angelique de Jong
Sales Manager - Regenerative Medicine ANZ
Starting out in a haematology lab more than 40 years ago was the perfect training ground for a career in various medical roles in sales and marketing covering Ophthalmology through to Regenerative Medicine across ANZ. Finding success in seeing individuals flourish and leading diverse teams has been Angelique's driving force over the years. Any downtime is spent sailing or exercising with an energetic border collie close by before catching up with the latest work stories of family and friends. -
Kelleigh Hooker
Marketing Communications Manager ANZ
Since joining InterMed in 2008, Kelleigh has progressed through sales and marketing roles leading to her appointment as Marketing Communications Manager in 2020. Prior to joining InterMed, Kelleigh worked in industries including hospitality/gaming, health and wellbeing, and finance, allowing her to bring a wealth of experience from different sectors. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time at the beach with her family and friends. -
Scott Hinton
Business Manager – ENT ANZ
For nearly 30 years, Scott has worked in the medical industry, both clinically and as a highly experienced Senior Sales and Marketing professional. With a Master of Business Administration, Scott honed his skills in various roles ranging from Marketing Manager to Executive Business Manager and Director of Sales in Australia, Asia Pacific (APAC), and Europe before joining InterMed in 2018. When not working, Scott enjoys sailing and hiking as well as spending time with his family. -
Trish Weston
Director
Trish's unwavering dedication and entrepreneurial drive have been instrumental in InterMed's success since she co-founded the company in 1980. Her experience in organisational and administrative roles were pivotal in shaping InterMed during its early years, and her commitment has laid the foundation for what it is today. -
Reshma
Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance Manager ANZ
Reshma's expertise in Biomedical Engineering and impressive record of leading multiple integration projects, audits and complex regulatory and post-market issues make her an invaluable addition as the Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance Manager across ANZ. Originally from India, Reshma worked and studied in Singapore for over a decade before migrating to Australia in 2018. When she's not busy at work, Reshma enjoys cooking in her spare time. -
Ben Darling
Director of Corporate Accounts ANZ Country Manager Australia
Harnessing an entrepreneurial spirit and ten years of sales, business development and management experience, Ben joined InterMed as the first employee of the Australian Business in 2013. From carrying the bag with the handful of products InterMed had, to establishing our 3PL operation and everything in between, he did it all and continues to take a hands-on approach to leading the business today. Outside work, Ben enjoys spending time with family and friends. -
Tony Weston
IT Manager
Tony brought his IT expertise to InterMed in December 2002. A graduate of Auckland University, he has worked in IT roles across New Zealand and the United Kingdom in various industries, including banking, shipping, software, and healthcare. In his spare time, he spends time with his young family. -

Chief Executive Officer
Andrew's journey with InterMed began in 2009. Initially joining the team as a Business Unit Manager, it wasn't long before his performance and leadership skills earned him the role of CEO in 2010, and since then, InterMed has witnessed continuous growth. Andrew has been a board member of MTANZ since 2014, Chair since July 2023, and an active member of AICD since 2018. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys family time, travelling, and coaching youth sports teams.Contact Andrew

Customer Service Manager ANZ
Leading the Customer Service team across ANZ, Lisa has been with InterMed for 9 ½ years, joining in January 2015. Initially working in Purchasing and Consignment Management, Lisa transitioned into the role of team leader five years ago, where she has been able to apply her leadership skills and experience to drive the team's success before recently transitioning into the role of Customer Service Manager ANZ. Outside of work, Lisa is a dedicated crafter and takes part in a leisure Marching Team. -

With over 20 years experience in sales and marketing management and having worked across various product lines and multinational brands in ANZ, Robert brings a successful track record of growing, developing, and leading strong teams to his role as Sales and Marketing Director. Robert is also passionate about developing the careers and capabilities of others, as evidenced by his accreditation as a business coach. Outside the office, you can find Robert watching sports or brewing beer. -
Ryan Stuart

Ryan has led our finance team since 2016 and does so with a solid foundation of accountancy experience. Gaining his CA professional qualification in 2007, Ryan has since honed his skills by working in complex business environments, including business turnarounds and receiverships, and has dealt with various commercial issues across several industries. After work, you can find Ryan at his kids' sports games, camping, and catching up with friends. -
Chantal Summerton
Business Manager - Wound Care & Diabetes
Chantal joined InterMed in 2011 with 24 years of healthcare experience across global markets and a background in social work. She quickly became one of our most successful Wound Care Product Specialists and later brought her skills to the Diabetes division, where she achieved the same level of success. Chantal now leads both teams as Wound Care and Diabetes Business Manager. In her free time, she enjoys paddleboarding and spending time with her family. -
Ryan Shea
Director of Operations & Business Development
Ryan joined InterMed in December 2012 and brings a wealth of experience in developing and executing growth strategies across multiple business units and in a range of different health care environments. Ryan previously worked for Baxter Healthcare and Teva Pharmaceuticals in Canada. He holds Bachelor degrees in Economics and English, as well as a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada. -
Ruth Hughes
Sales Manager - Medical
Ruth's background as a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in health science (nursing) contributed to her career pathway in medical device management. She now holds over 20 years of sales experience and has developed extensive product knowledge and solid professional relationships, driven by a passion for achieving the best health outcomes for paediatric patients. Ruth's favourite weekend pastime is interior and garden design, frequently reorganising both to accommodate seasonal colours. -
Nigel Arkell

As an accomplished chartered accountant with over 35 years of experience as a partner at EY and having established a thriving accounting practice of his own, Nigel assumed the role of Chairman of the Board at InterMed in 2008. He is highly skilled in offering sound business advice, and his extensive expertise in family-owned businesses has been instrumental in steering InterMed through various phases of growth and transformation. -
Mark Nielsen
Operations Manager
Mark has over 25 years of Operational Management experience in a broad range of industries, including 15 years of managing highly effective operational teams within the medical industry in New Zealand. His primary focus is on delivering high standards of service delivery to support the health professionals contribute to the well-being of patients throughout the country. Mark enjoys time at the gym, fishing, and kayaking in his spare time and is addicted to watching all team sports. -

Business Manager - Acute Care & Diagnostics
Mark joined InterMed in March 2018 as Business Manager for the Acute care & Diagnostics division. Having spent over 20 years in the healthcare industry, Mark brings a wealth of experience across sales, marketing and people leadership with a focus on capital orientated portfolios. Prior to joining InterMed, Mark held a number of senior management positions based out of Europe. In his spare time Mark enjoys getting outdoors, whether it be spending time with his family or out running to keep fit.
