Flexima® Active Convex Urostomy Bag

Flexima® 3S – 2 piece Stoma Bags – Simple, Soft, Secure

The Flexima® 3S features a guided mechanical coupling system that ensures precise alignment and a secure lock between the wafer and pouch. This reduces the risk of leaks and enhances confidence during daily activities delivering Leak Protection and Secure Fit.

Flexima® 3S stands for Simple, Soft and Secure:

  • Simple coupling system intuitively guides you through the attachment process so only a minimum of patient education is required.⁴
  • Soft coupling system with a floating flange that requires minimum pressure on the abdomen to prevent discomfort during application.⁴
  • Secure coupling system for three reasons: Enhanced leak-proof thanks to the close fitting of the bag on the wafer, increased security through the click when wafer and bag are well locked together and finally even more fixation with the possibility to use a belt attached to one of the three hooks on the bag.⁴

Flexima® 3 Key – 2 piece Stoma Bags

Flexima® Key is a flexible adhesive two-piece system with a guided coupling system for precise, simple and secure bag positioning on the wafer. The soft material of the coupling system provides flexibility which allows the wafer to adapt well to different body contours.⁵

  • Guided positioning of the bag on the wafer thanks to the “key” system: The tab of the adhesive coupling ring on the bag is inserted into the slot of the wafer to guarantee a precise positioning.⁵

Frequently Asked Questions About Ostomy Products and Care

Q: What is an ostomy?

A: An ostomy is a surgically created opening (a stoma) that allows waste to exit the body. It may be temporary or permanent due to conditions like bowel disease or bladder cancer.

Q: How do I choose the right ostomy product?

A: Your choice depends on stoma type (colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy), body shape, sensitivity, and activity level.

Q: Where can I buy B. Braun ostomy products in New Zealand?

A: InterMed supplies the full range of B. Braun Flexima® NZ ostomy products and accessories, with local support and product guidance.

Q: What’s the difference between one-piece and two-piece ostomy systems?

A: One-piece: Adhesive and bag are combined — great for simplicity and discretion. Two-piece: Separate baseplate and bag — easier to change and gentler on skin.

Q: What causes skin irritation around a stoma?

A: Leaks, poor fit, or extended wear time are common causes. Use protective accessories like Ally® Rings and Powder to improve skin health.

Q: How often should I empty or change my ostomy bag?

A: Most users empty the bag 4–6 times per day, and change the appliance every 2–3 days, or sooner if the seal breaks.
